Ilocos Sur is the birth place of my parents, so we often visit there, usually during the holidays. We decided to spend our New Year in Ilocos for two reasons: (1) my titas Ofel and Lita, Mama’s sisters, arrived from the United States, and (2) we wanted to see Calle Crisologo.
Here’s Yago, our pet dog, visiting Camanggaan, Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur, Mama’s hometown, for the first time. Isn’t he lovely?
In the morning of January 31, we went to Calle Crisologo (Heritage Village) in Vigan.

We also went to Santiago, Ilocos Sur. It’s near the famous Vitalis Villas, but at least, we could take pictures here for free.
New Year pictures! My brother almost achieved the picture I wanted.
And with this, my 2017 ended.
2017 was a tough year for me. Betrayals, unexpected friendships, toxic relationships, forgotten responsibilities, new places and hobbies, and transformation—all in one year. 2018 might be harder, but who knows? Well, at least I now know how to handle them . . . because 2017 taught me how.
