Visit Number 37

His name is Genzon. Genzon Rusiana.

At first he wouldn’t like to be visited. He even lied to me that their house was farther than C-Jay’s! I figured the lie of course. When I asked him why, he told me that he was afraid that some classmates would follow us. I assured him no one will.

“Teacher walang tao.” He said.

“Ha? Akala ko ba anjan?”
“Wala teacher. Baka namalengke. Sa Monday na lang siguro cher.”
“Ay andito na ako eh. Okay lang maghintay.”

He welcomed me to their nicely-decorated house. It has the same size like those of the others, but the way things were arranged were so nice. A duyan was also there so I thought, “Baka may baby dito.”

His sister, Amanda, came ten minutes after. If I could remember it correctly, she was already in grade 5. Amanda was sweet and respectful. She says ‘po’ and ‘opo’; she even asked me if Genzon disobeys me in class.

Genzon went to the other house to tell his mother that I was there. Moments later she came.

“Grabe maam sorry di man lang ako nakapaglinis.”
“Ay ayos lang ho.”

The first minutes were about Genzon of course, about how smart he was yet he his behavior needs to be guarded.

“Kamusta ba yan ma’am sa school?”
“Okay po talaga yan sa studies. Isa yan sa madaling makapick-up. Nga lang ho…”
“Makulit?”

The next minutes were about life in general.

Yung papa ho nila tricycle driver.”

His father came to say drop their other child then left.

“Ah ito yung isa. Ilan ho silang magkakapatid?”
“Apat ho.

We chatted for a few more minutes, but I could not help to look at Amanda–such a very sweet child. Well there are really circumstances such as this.

I just hope Amanda gets through this… And so is Genzon.

Student number 37, check.
